John Maciel is my father. Born in 1918, son of legal immigrant parents from the Portuguese Azores Islands and grew up in East Providence, RI. A while back, I asked him about writing his memoirs after he started telling me some old WWII stories. Three years later, I now have his manuscript, and will be transcribing them in this forum.
